Every year I contribute to the United Way via direct deduction from payroll, but this year our UW committee actually had a raffle as part of their insentive campaign for anyone who started contributing or incrased their contribution. I won a $25 gift card for Winner's, so today I went to see what there was. I was stunned to see the number of things I actually loved there; everything from stationery to furniture! We carried home a big haul of crafty items. I could have purchased several more items, but had to stop myself. With the addition of the gift card I only spent about $40 of my own money there. A bit later we went to Walmart (I know, I know) and my daughter discoverd two abandoned embossing folders completely out of place and she nabbed them. In all, a very nice haul. We're happy as schoolchildren playing with our stash at the moment.
I have to say that the gel pens from American crafts FEEL extremely flimsy. In fact, when you try to take off the cap, often the pen comes apart and you have to put it back together again. The irony that American Crafts has their items made in CHINA(!) is not lost on anyone. The ink itself is beautiful, but they compare very badly with all the Japanese made other pens and markers that we own.
Anyhoo, here are a couple of pictures. I will list what each item is in a bit. I have to go get some shut eye now as it's 1:05 am on Monday and I have to get up to go to work in less than six hours.
